Spring time kids! It means only one thing at Casa Beebe…BUSY weekends!
In addition to all the regular stuff that has to get done on weekends there is outdoor stuff, projects, garden stuff…ugh! An endless list!
Friday night was a pretty quiet night in. Chris worked on his boat (duh) and then we had Irish Nachos for dinner. I snagged the recipe from Jenn over at PeasandCrayons. They were good! I think I needed to do something a little differently to make them GREAT, but there wasn’t a single morsel left, so they must have been okay.
Saturday started fairly early (thanks to the damn cats) and so we made coffee and headed to the hot tub to wake up, drink our java and watch the sun come up over Roxy Ann. We know that summer is getting closer because the sun is coming up behind the mountain now instead of slightly to the South. Very cool. Then Chris went out to work on his boat (DUH!) working outside.
Part of his Saturday project was building swing doors for his boat shed.
This picture doesn’t really do it justice, but he had already moved the ‘burb back and so I didn’t have a good angle.
I spent Saturday doing indoors stuff mostly. You know: laundry, dishes, picking stuff up, playing with the cats. I headed to Target in the afternoon to try and find some shorts but no luck. I do not want my bootay hanging out when I wear shorts, thanks Target (and Old Navy).
For dinner I made a Casa Beebe favorite: homemade pizza with mozzarella, pesto, smoked tomatoes, artichokes…and more.
We ate it all.
A friend of mine was in town and was having an impromptu drink drop in at a local watering hole, so I stopped by for a visit. Chris was worn out from his super busy day, so he stayed home.
Sunday was a busy day all the way around. We started out with another hot tub/coffee session early. I’m tellin’ ya…Craigslist hot tub…best couple hundred bucks I’ve spent in ages! I love my hot tub!
After that we got cleaned up and dove in to our projects for the day. Chris went out to do more work on the boat, this time on interior stuff.
I stayed indoors and did an epic food prep session (post coming soon). We have plenty of food ready to go for the week now. I started with breakfast:
I fried up an egg and toasted an english muffin. The egg went on the muffin and then a slice of Muenster cheese on top, under the broiler for a minutes and my very own egg (mc)muffin breakfast.
Here’s a sneak peak at the food prep party.
After that I cleaned up and went to check on Chris. He made great progress on the boat interior!
Lookin’ good babe! I am encouraging him to write a series of posts about everything he has done. It has been A LOT! This is mostly a picture of the new floor and then the new carpet. He also rebuilt the seat frames of the seats you can see, and completely rebuilt the frames of the jumpseat(s) that I am sitting on. Plus all the other structural stuff, and the new gas tanks, which you can see to the left of my leg, and the new motor! Whew! This has been quite a project!
Afterwards we headed to the store to pick up some garden starts. We got strawberries, walla walla onions and some beets.
They seemed to have handled the transplanting just fine.
We also have lettuces, peas, fava beans, another type of onion, radish and cilantro seeds in the dirt. We have basil and tomato starts going in the house (and a few peppers). I can’t wait until mid-May when we can really get going with the planting!
Chris still had a lot of energy apparently (me, not so much) because then he went and washed the Samurai,
…and then he decided to rack his hard cider from the bucket to the car boy.
Another exciting and busy weekend at #casabeebe! How was your weekend? Did you do any projects? Play in the dirt? Do any food or meal prep?
