Happy First Day of March!
March is a busy month. I have TONS of friends and family who have birthdays in March, including the Mister of Casa Beebe.
In fact, Mister Beebe is turning the big 4-0 this month! YOWZA.
Let me just get this out of the way now: HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all the people I know who are having birthdays in March, including hubby, two brothers in law, sister in law, niece, nephew, friends (at least 5 that I can think of right off the top of my head) and anyone else who is a March baby.
Now, let’s rewind a bit to February. I can check off one of my main goals for 2014! I started a new job that is a regular, full-time job! I work as an Epic Analyst for Asante Health Systems! I’m very excited as I have been working on getting a position with Epic/Asante for almost a year now.
February was also “get moving” month in our Healthy Habits year long program. I must admit, I seriously failed at this. I tried, but I started a new job, lost my motivation and just fell flat. I do have a 15k race the end of March in San Diego that I need to get in gear for, so I am hoping/planning to focus more on some activity this month. Today, I did a bunch of yard work, and I am sore! That’s a start.
March is Eat A Healthy Breakfast month in our Healthy Habits challenge program. The idea is to eat something HEALTHY (NO DOUGHNUTS!) to jump start your day in a healthy way. Lots of studies show that eating a healthy breakfast mix of proteins, fats and carbs helps keep you full longer, sets the tone for your eating habits for the day, provides plenty of body and brain energy and helps keep you focused and alert. I’ll share more about the benefits of eating breakfast as well as some simple breakfast ideas as we head through the month.

The other “big thing” at Casa Beebe is we are *FINALLY* re-doing our back yard and putting in a deck. Two weekends ago we poured a new concrete pad for the hot tub, last weekend we moved the hot tub, and this weekend we started getting serious about the deck building part. I’m super excited to have the finished product done in a few weeks. I spend a ton of time outdoors, especially when the sun is out, so having a new, big, beautiful space will be so great!
