Friends! How the heck are ya?!
My last blog post was in May. That should tell you that I have been beyond busy! There have been so many wonderful things going on at Casa Beebe, but because I have been living my life mantra (Don’t Wait! Live The Life You Want Right Now!), blogging has taken a big back seat. I have missed being here, but my days have been FULL.
Let’s do a brief recap of what’s been happening, shall we?
May
I was working full-time at the credit union, which I must say, took a lot more getting used to than I would have thought.
As mentioned in the last post we got our boat out for the first real play run of the season. That was awesome.
The spring garden was also in full effect.
Crazy amounts of Bok choy, lettuce and peas!
Chris and I also went on a morel mushroom hunting day trip. We didn’t find any morels, but we did find a cool irrigation canal, a bomb diggity chipotle bloody mary, and a gorgeous vista.
May was filled with training wogs (walk/jog intervals) for me as I prepared to wog the Happy Girls Half Marathon Memorial Day weekend in Bend, Oregon. I logged something like 40 miles in the month of May alone.
Of course there was silly kitty times, too.
I also, for the first time in my life, pre-ordered an item of technology! My HTC Incredible was on its last leg, and I was SO excited to get the new Samsung Galaxy S4. I LOVE it!!
Memorial Day weekend we headed to Bend with a great group of friends. We rented a chalet at Eagle Crest Resort and proceeded to have good eats, good laughs, play games, hot tub and relax.
Kelsey and I were running the half marathon on Sunday, so Saturday the gals headed to Bend to go to the race expo and pick up our bibs.
OSAAT: One Step At A Time. My mantra to keep going. Also, below, my “reason for running.”
We finished! 3 hours and 27 minutes, 13.1 miles, two glasses of sparkling pear wine, and our finishers “medals.”
Check off another Goal for 2013! May was a great month!
June
Oh my if May was great, then June was absolutely amazing, and SO jam-packed full of stuff!! The short run down: I had house guests from the 13th of June through the 28th of June, and then Chris and I were in Portland the 29th and 30th. In the midst of all that we did a bunch of stuff!
Starting with taking the boat out, again…
Getting the beach set up for the summer.
Planting more stuff in the garden, including tons of peppers and squash.
Working…
Uhm, relaxing?
Hiking.
Incredible hike at Grizzly Peak. This is the view to the south with Mt. Shasta to the left, Pilot rock center, Mt. Ashland to the right and Emigrant lake in the foreground. Simply breathtaking.
Oh, and another hike, this time to Upper Table Rock.
I did a little baking. This was three different types of muffins under construction.
Graduation from Southern Oregon University with a BS in Communication, a Certificate of Human Resource Management and a Certificate of Conflict Resolution, with honors, was the BIG DEAL of the month.
Random cute Roxie picture.
I did it!! Another Goal for 2013 (and life, for that matter!) checked off the to-do list!
My besties Kelsey and Jennifer came for graduation, we had a big party and lots of fun. They decorated the burb all up for me.
Random cute Daisy picture.
It’s official!!
Jennifer, Kelsey and Rochelle…helping me celebrate a big milestone!
Then we went to Lake of the Woods with mom and my brother to relax.
And then there was another hiking trip with my brother to Upper Table Rock.
Followed by:
Wine Tasting! Schmidt Family Vineyards is beautiful!! And their tasting presentation is fun and unique.
After Schmidt we stopped in at Fiasco, because we love their atmosphere and wines. Silly boys.
The other “big deal” of June: my 37th Birthday!
My co-workers decorated up my desk and had this crazy blue wig and hat for me to wear. I’m a good sport and wore the wig most of the day. It was fun and silly. I love silly!
Then we went golfing! (I wasn’t kidding when I said we had house guests the whole month!) My brother, Chris, and Danny. Chris had just sunk an incredible putt from outside of the green. It was one of those amazing shots that no one can believe! This happened to be on Danny’s birthday, so Happy Birthday Dan!
Another boating trip!
And then we blasted to Portland for a very quick weekend so Chris could buy a new toy (more on that later), and we could help Danny celebrate his birthday in style. I managed to also visit with a couple different friends each morning over breakfast.
And then…just like that, June had whizzed by. Daisy has the right idea…
More soon on what has been happening so far in July!
June is my favorite month of the whole year and this post is a good example of why. Great weather, great friends, laughter, love, and really living life!
